Seven Days in & Doing Well

After a dazed few days after the birth, barely having time to take it all in as we hosted a steady stream of well wishers (I keep forgetting how many friends we have as a family - and how much family for that matter!), Saturday was a tough day - everyone was stressed and tired, Debbi's milk had come in and she was low, the kids were not coping with a new baby very well, Aimie was getting colic and I found myself not coping well with coping with everyone else.

Since then, things have been a lot better. Aimie seems happiest when not feeding or sleeping to be just watching the world go by, and is happy to be either sitting in her chair or being passed from one cooing adult to another.

Hannah and Sam are beginning to cope a bit better, but there are still wobbly moments. Debbi and I are feeling a lot more relaxed, but anxious about how smoothly things will run once I get back to work next week. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it!

For now, we are slowly adapting to being five instead of four. Hannah, Debbi and I have all made this transition at least once before, Sam is probably finding this the hardest to cope with, and Aimie seems to be blissfully chilled to the whole experience!
