The year in which....

Aimie took up gymnastics...

Hannah joined the school choir NChant and sang at the Royal Albert Hall...

Sam discovered Star Wars and Lord of the Rings...

Debbi got a 'good' from Ofsted...

Apart from that, this was a relatively normal year - no major transitions in school or work, no massive upheavals in most areas, but a real sense that God has been looking after us as a family.
Debbi continues to run Kings Preschool, and after a gargantuan effort by her and her team, got a 'Good' from Ofsted when they visited in February. This means she and her team are now hard working on even more improvements to an already well regarded pre-school setting. There have been some changes in the staff team over the course of the year, and a smaller than usual intake of pre-school children, so it remains hard and challenging but rewarding work.
Hannah is busy working towards exams, keeping up her flute playing and is now a fully fledged member of the school's award winning choir. Her first gig was singing at the Salvation Army annual Carol Festival at the Royal Albert Hall in November! Talk about going in at the deep end. Thankfully the choir leader is top notch, the Sally Army were welcoming and well organised as ever, and it was a great fun event all round.
Sam is getting stuck into Year 8, thoroughly enjoying maths and science as ever, while still building castles in the sky (almost literally) on regular basis on Minecraft, the virtual Lego of the gaming world.
Aimie discovered a talent for bending her body in weird directions and doing cartwheels, handstands, flips and the like over the summer. We could hardly stop her constantly flipping and bending whenever she was outside, so we decided it was time she took up gymnastics properly. So now she can do even more wild and eye watering contortions, often to the tunes of Matilda, Aimie's all time favourite musical.
Steve is embracing his (not so inner) old fogey by going even more beardy and tweedy than before. He continues to run and travel at the drop of a hat, of which he now has too many! His work with CMF continues to be busy, challenging but rewarding, In between whiles he makes tea and breakfast on a regular basis for the rest of the family and enjoys the odd bit of writing, and thinks he probably needs a Labrador or a whippet to keep him company.
